looks at this great message of hope, fulfilled in Jesus.
In our journey through the judgeship of Jephthah,
we looked at the
areas of idolatry, faithfulness, and envy. But did Jephthah
really kill his daughter..?
God has a name, and He revealed it to His
people. This talk looks at the incredible implications of this
revelation, and also how to really avoid breaking the Third Commandment.

warrior, but his brief story in 1 Samuel shows that he is much more

The somewhat bleak story of Abimelech is our focus

the judge in the parable, we see God as a loving Father, enouraging us
to 'always pray and not give up'.

We live in an amazing world, which is full of
wonderfully diverse
creatures. While taking a brief look at just some of these, we
also focus on the one who made it all, and gave Himself of us - Jesus
is Lord of all!
While
writing about godly living, Paul takes a few verses to focus on
grace. Grace brings salvation. Grace teaches us how we
should live. Grace gives us hope for the future as the people of
God.

first of our new study nights, involving
group discussion and
feedback. The evening begins by unpacking Judges 1, and ends
looking at an area of application.
Grouding itself in Ephesians 6, this talk looks at
the reality of
spiritual attack. The focus, however, is on the subtle attack
that we suffer in the West, which has been robbing Christians of power
and life for years.

last talk in the series focussing on the
Judgement and the Eternal
State, both of Hell and Heaven. Rewards for believers are also
addressed.

deals with the
first events on the Day of the Lord - Christ's Return and the
Resurrection.

happens when we die,
focussing on the Intermediate State, what happens to the dead before
Christ's return.

at universal quest
for peace. The talk goes through the failure to find peace with
the world, and inner peace, to look at the real problem and its
solution.
The last talk in the series
on Colossians, looking
at Paul's closing
comments. The thrust of his message continues even here, as he
calls attention to his team and honours them in God's Word.
In these few verses, Paul shifts his focus to the
relationship
between Christians and 'outsiders'. He uses prayer as a pivot to
so the vital part that it plays in the spread of the Gospel. Link

not everyone's favourite topic, but a vital one for the unity of the
local church.

Giving seems to be quite a regular topic (this
being the third talk
on this subject that I've given - see whole series). This talk addresses the
Tithing
Law, the Old Covenant, and specific Biblical commands to give, together
with a look at the battle between loving God and loving money.
This passage from Colossians is one of the clearest declarations of the supremacy of Jesus, and, in the light of this, considers His sacrifice that is sufficient to save us and make all things new! Link to full series is here.

Due to the lack of their popularity, we decided to run a 12-part series on the twelve minor prophets. The aim is to show how they fit into Jewish history, what their purpose is, and what message they had for God's people both then and now. This first talk looks at the overarching message of compassion in the book of Jonah.
